Nox Health is committed to improving the health of populations through accurate sleep diagnostics, comprehensive, value-based care management, and rigorous outcomes measurement. This required quickly attracting highly skilled healthcare and technology talent, while fostering a sustainable, values-driven culture rooted in collaboration and a non-hierarchical approach. At the same time, Nox executed a strategic pivot from a regional, in-person care model to a national, fully telehealth-based solution. Once these foundational changes were in place, the company shifted its strategic marketing focus to present a clearer value proposition to the market.
SOLUTIONS
Nox Health’s executive team engaged TechCXO to implement a range of strategies and services across multiple disciplines, including:
- Leverage TechCXO’s team of hourly-based recruiters to expand medical, operational, executive, and technology teams
- Engage a fractional Chief People Officer to develop Nox’s HR function and build a top tier HR team.
- Establish a comprehensive Compensation Strategy and Structure aligned with company’s goals and culture
- Provide executive coaching for key leaders, , including the CEO and Chief Medical Officer
- Provide HR due diligence for private equity investors, including environmental data, attrition, total compensation, liabilities, employee ranking, and more.
- Cultivate a positive, motivated workforce
- Engage a TechCXO Healthcare Executive Operations professional to serve as Chief Telehealth Officer
- Develop a strategic framework for Nox to transition Nox from an in-person encounter model (pre-Covid) to a 100% telehealth-based solution
- Define telehealth service requirements for telecommunications vendors supporting the strategy
- Recruit Sleep Physicians for the company’s Care Operations team to support patients in all 50 states
- Develop workflow for the Care Operations team to guide patients through sleep testing, telehealth consult, diagnosis, treatment, device fitting, acclimation, and adherence.
- Drive continuous improvements in the quality of care and the patient encounter workflows.
TechCXO has been partnering with Nox Health for six years, with the collaboration still ongoing. Currently, our focus is on addressing new challenges and opportunities within marketing and sales, including:
- Crafting external messaging to promote Nox’s sleep care solutions
- Gaining deeper insights into and responding to the healthcare benefits needs and purchasing processes of large, self-insured employers
- Providing fractional CMO support for initiatives like refining the market-facing website strategy, optimizing the marketing team structure and roles, enhancing both member and client communication strategies, and overseeing key marketing projects
- Assisting with the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of a Chief Marketing Officer, as well as developing and implementing a streamlined onboarding process to accelerate the transition.

Over the past six years, TechCXO’s strategic and operational support has been pivotal in Nox Health’s rapid growth and successful scaling. During this time, the company built a robust HR team, including a VP of HR, three HR business partners, an HR coordinator, and a dedicated recruiting team. They also professionalized their compensation structure, onboarding processes, and key leadership teams, cultivating the unique culture they envisioned.
